· General developmental delay or intellectual disability.
· Delayed speech and language development.
· Learning disability /disorders

· Behavioral issues associated with any of the above conditions.
These disorders
adversely affect a child's ability to communicate and learn; they also impact child's emotional regulation skills and can be an obstacle to child’s social
interactions. The main goal of developmental pediatrics is to understand the requirements of each child and help them reach their full potential.
Our Developmental/Behavioral
Clinic specializes in providing comprehensive and holistic care to ensure optimal development.
Types of Developmental/Behavioral Disorders
Developmental and behavioral paediatrics deals with a wide range
of disorders that can affect the child’s development and behaviour. With individualized treatment plans, our developmental clinic, tailors the interventions to address
the unique needs of each child.
Learning Disorders
Learning disorders are conditions that affect a child’s ability to learn and use information. Dyslexia (difficulty reading words
accurately and fluently), Dysgraphia (Writing difficulties) , dyscalculia(difficulty with numbers and math), Apraxia of speech , non verbal learning
disorders are common learning disorders among children. They impact the child’s educational journey and these children
also experience emotional challenges like anxiety and depression. Timely interventions from developmental
pediatricians along with targeted tutoring and personalized educational plans can help these children. Learning disorders can be due to various factors including
the child’s family history, complications that might have taken place during birth, physical or emotional trauma and previous childhood illnesses.
If you notice signs such as illegible handwriting, poor comprehension
and difficulty with word recognition , grammar or math, then visit to a developmental clinic is indicated. Early intervention ensures the best results.
Behavioral Disorders
Conditions such as oppositional-defiant disorder, conduct
problems, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), depression and anxiety are all part of behavioral pediatrics. If your child is having frequent
temper tantrums, anger outbursts, mood swings, low energy and low mood, not doing well in school, short attention span , hyperactivity or impulsiveness -
they may be signs of an underlying behavioral disorder and you need to visit our developmental and behavioural pediatricians for timely advice and
interventions. Causes of behavioral disorders can be diverse, such as malnutrition, hereditary, family functionality or an underlying neurological
disorder. Our behavioral pediatricians collaborate with each child’s family to create a holistic plan to bring behavioral changes and ensure emotional
well-being of the child .
Habit Disorders
This category of disorders includes nail biting, thumb sucking ,hair pulling, and involuntary movements known as tics (such as head or shoulder
jerks, twitching of the eyes, eye blinking and jerking of the cheek and mouth). Doctors diagnose Tics based on
their repetitive nature, such as repeated body rocking, foot tapping, throat clearing and other sudden, repetitive movements. Many of these habits do not
interfere with daily functioning of the child and therefore do not require any interventions. However, if they lead to substantial distress in the child or
lead to socially inappropriate behaviours, therapeutic intervention might be needed.
A pediatric developmental specialist usually starts by conducting a physical examination of the child and gathering information on
Child’s development and behaviour at home.
· Collaborative Care: We work closely with families, educators and
other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for each child.
